EKG/Phlebotomy Tech
| EKG TECHNICIANS are responsible for performing electrocardiogram tests in order to record and monitor electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. This assists a physician in diagnosing and treating cardiac and blood vessel irregularities. These tests include basic EKG’s, Holter Monitoring (portable EKG which records activity for 24-48 hrs), and Stress Tests. (treadmill).
PHLEBOTOMISTS draw blood from patients for testing purposes. They usually work under the supervision of medical technologists or laboratory managers.(GENERALLY, THE SAME EMPLOYEE IN A FACILITY PERFORMS THE FUNCTIONS OF AN EKG TECH AND A PHLEBOTOMY TECH). EKG/Phlebotomy COMBINED PROGRAM : 8 weeks Total Tuition: $1,170Down Payment: $210 Tuition Balance: $960 ($120/wk for 8 weeks) Schedule: Same as C.N.A EKG OR Phlebotomy (SEPERATLY): 4 WEEKS EACH Total Tuition : $600 (each) Down Payment: $120 Tuition Balance: $480 ($120/wk for 4 weeks) Schedule: Same except for weekend program, which would either be 8 Saturdays or 8 Sundays.
